The Classic Car Cocoon is made for indoor storage, such as in a garage or shed. For best results, use it on a clean, dry, and level floor to ensure the cocoon fits properly and seals well. Clear any debris and avoid areas where water and spills of liquid might run, pool or collect under the cocoon. To further prevent moisture from rising through the floor, it is recommended to place an oversized sheet of thick polyethylene plastic or a similar vapor barrier on the floor before installing the Cocoon." 

The VCI (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor) layer releases invisible vapor molecules that bond chemically to all metal surfaces of the vehicle, forming an invisible protective shield against rust and corrosion.

Yes. The outer shell is hydrophobic, meaning it repels moisture and prevents liquid penetration. The surface causes water to bead and roll off rather than soak in. This ensures the interior environment remains dry when zipped and sealed. 

No, the Classic Car Cocoon is designed to be water-resistant and repels light moisture and humidity. However, it is not fully waterproof because the zipper seams and ventilation features allow for some air exchange, which is essential for preventing condensation inside. Therefore, it is not recommended for outdoor use or exposure to rain or standing water. The Cocoon is best used indoors where it shields your vehicle from moisture while allowing it to "breathe" enough to avoid trapped condensation. 

No. Classic Car Cocoon's materials are non-porous and non-absorbent. Neither the exterior shell nor the interior VCI liner absorbs water, oil, or other fluids. This prevents mold, mildew, and odor buildup inside the enclosure. 

Partially. While Classic Car Cocoon's outer material resists most oils and hydrocarbons, it is not technically oleophobic in the same way as specialized fluoropolymer coatings. However, common automotive fluids (like light oils or lubricants) will not penetrate or damage the surface if wiped promptly.

To clean, gently wipe the surface of the Cocoon with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Once cleaned, allow it to dry thoroughly to prevent mold or mildew growth. When not in use, store the Cocoon in the included travel bag in a cool, dry place, avoiding tight compression or weight stacked on top of the travel bag that can damage the VCI inside. 

The exterior can be gently cleaned with mild soap (like dish detergent) and water using a soft cloth or sponge.
